Four Burrow, Trebudannon Preview

The Easter Monday Point-to-Point meeting at Trebudannon sets the scene for an exciting days racing where Deb’s Dasher could take the Brewer Dolphin sponsored Mens Open. With seven races on the card attracting nearly one hundred entries it will be a great way to spend a bank holiday Monday.

The action starts at 1pm with the Hunt Members race in which Searree will be fancied having won this race last season for trainer Pauline Geering. Ross Oliver has two entries and Fiulin relished the mud at Buckfastleigh coming in eight lengths in front of Doof and had also shown some form at Chipley Park for jockey Bryony Frost when second to Nycetos on soft – Wee Fly from the same yard is another previous course winner here.

The Open Maiden 2m4f has 25 entered and those to note are Jennys Layla for the Pauline Geering team coming in second behind Hugo Where Igo at Wadebridge and the Robert Chanin-trained Posh Totty having run second behind Typical Oscar at Great Trethew. Richard Barber has a good record with Maidens at this course and has entered Pamplona Run and Port Melon.

Truro Tractors sponsor the Confined in which the Roy Smith trained King Of Alcatraz won the Intermediate at Wadebridge earlier this month by two and a half lengths over Sobre Tresor. Print The Money for trainer Jill Dennis could have claims having taken the Confined in a quicker time at the same meeting.

Double Mead for trainer/jockey Alexandra Dunn is an Open specialist and looks set to claim the AGA Ladies Open here having recently won at Wadebridge, one and a half lengths in front of Mobaasher.

In the Mens Open, Batu Ferringhi for trainer Claire Hitch won his Maiden here last season and has progressed to score at Milborne St Andrew and Bishops Court this season for Josh Guerriero but will need to challenge Deb’s Dasher from the Kayley Jones yard who has already confirmed his winning ways at Treborough Hill this season.

The Restricted could see course winner Hallo Dolly, for trainer Sarah Prouse, follow up on her second to Harry’s Farewell at Great Trethew meeting in February and others with claims are Gontdevon and Santiago Sun.

Concluding the day’s events is the Open Maiden and with 27 entries this race may well be divided.

Course is located at St Columb Major (signed off A30 and A39) Postcode TRP 4LP. Entrance £20 per car load, £10 car & driver. On course facilities bar, bookmakers and hot refreshments.
