Tattersalls Ireland in association with the Louth Hunt will host the second running of its International Point-to-Point on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd May. The two day fixture has a change of venue for 2014 with racing taking place at the home of the Irish Grand National, Fairyhouse Racecourse.

An action packed racecard is on offer for the two days with highlights including the €5,000 Mares Bonus Race, four Claiming Races including two new additional races for four and five-year-olds and the ultra-competitive Team Ireland v Team Great Britain Challenge Races.

An evening of entertainment takes place at Tattersalls Ireland’s Country House on Thursday 22nd May which will include a prize-giving ceremony to the winners of the Ireland/Great Britain Challenge Races, music and dancing.

Tattersalls Ireland’s Director of Bloodstock Sales, Neil Walsh commented; “We are delighted to be hosting the International Point-to-Point for the second year running. Due to the close proximity in timing to the Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair, the Point-to-Point will take place at Fairyhouse Racecourse located directly across the road from Tattersalls Ireland. Last year’s meeting was supported by an enthusiastic representation from a victorious Team Great Britain and we look forward to welcoming them back to Ireland for 2014 to defend their title.”

Lucy Tucker, Executive of the PPA said; “We are delighted the initiative was so successful last year and that it’s being repeated again this season. Our riders will be chomping at the bit to ride for their country and we will endeavour to create a competition within the riders’ championship so that the best of the best come across the water to take up the challenge with the aim of retaining the crown.”
