Preview: Pony Racing at South Tecott Point-To- Point, Upcott Cross, Bank Holiday Monday, 26th May 2014

Things are hotting up in the Devon and Cornwall Area pony racing championships in the battle for placings with some new faces in with a shout of success.

In the 148s Michael Treneer, Abi Lewis and Barnaby Treneer are locked in a battle for second or third place on Plym Steps, Derwent Dream Dancer and Tarka on 18, 17 and 16 points respectively. Michael is currently in second place on Roy Boy Green on 24 points with the runaway leader being Thomasina Eyston on Springs (64pts) who is battling for overall points champion honours with 138 leader Tamby Welch who has accrued 66 points on Angelic.

Also in the 138s, Tyler Heard has been winning in the Charles Owen racecourse series on The Jobs Not Straight but is still in second place with 49 points but only just, as James Armstrong is snapping at his heels with 43 points on Menedh Jumping Jack Flash. Kiana James Thomas has had a great first season in the sport and is just behind with 39 points on Dinky By Design. Chad Bament and Walter Fisher- Barnett have also accrued points on their ponies.

The next pony racing is on Bank Holiday Monday at the South Tetcott point to point.
