The Board of the Point-to-Point Authority is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Independent Members.

Tim Curtis has a lifelong interest in Pointing and has been a rider, owner and breeder in his time. He spent nine years as Chairman of RaceTech and brings a strong understanding of the racing community having worked in collaboration with many bodies within the sport.

“I am delighted and honoured to be given this opportunity to put something back into an integral part of jump racing, a great sport in which my family and I have been actively involved for over 100 years” said Tim Curtis.

Jeremy Barber has owned Point-to-Point and National Hunt Racehorses for 25 years and has gained extensive experience as Assistant Trainer in the family racing business. He has been The Point-to-Point Owners and Riders Association Representative for the Wessex area for the past 22 years. A Director of a wide range of rural enterprises, Jeremy offers the Board extensive business experience.

“I am determined to work with my colleagues to ensure that Pointing has a healthy future and am privileged to become a member of the PPA Board. I look forward to my new role within a sport I am so passionate about” said Jeremy Barber.

Simon Claisse, Chairman of the PPA, said:
“The interviews included a number of high calibre candidates. I am delighted that both Tim and Jeremy have accepted the positions and welcome their additions to the Board at a time of significant change. Both have practical experience and successful business acumen and The PPA will be able to utilise their expertise for the benefit of the sport in the future.”

Tim and Jeremy will start their terms of office on 1st January 2015 when both Tabitha Cave and Simon Claisse step down.
