Saturday 14th February

I have spent a fair part of the day on the course with a lot of other helpers, adding the finishing touches for Sunday’s meeting, myself mainly in the “Admin Shed”, the others round the course. After a little more overnight rain, the course is now looking great and the outlook for Sunday remains good, the “Declarations team” are geared up and will be ready & waiting, the hunt’s “Catering team are geared up to offer great refreshments, the bar’s got the beer in, the trophies and race cards are loaded ready for the morning and the Secretary’s going to try and get a good night’s sleep tonight! Ponies at 11am, Pointers at 12 noon.
We’re easy to find, alongside the A38 at Lower Dean, and the card promises exciting racing, particularly the £1000 Westcountry Champion Chase.
Come and join us for a great day out!

“The Clerk of the Course reported that at 3pm this afternoon, after heavy rainfall, the Going at Buckfastleigh has eased. It is now Good to Soft, Good in Places. More rain showers are forecast overnight, dying out to give a mainly dry day Saturday with the outlook for Sunday, cloudy but dry, with some sunshine”.

Many thanks
