The first meeting at Flete Park, near Ermington, the Dartmoor Hunt point to point on April 18, will once again feature Heavy horse racing. The fabulous Clydesdales, seen at Flete last season, and at Exeter races, will be thundering up the home straight straight after the last point to point race to raise cash for Devon Air Ambulance.
The meeting kicks off with two pony races at 1pm. There have been changes made to the run through at the foot of the hill. Directly after last year’s Modbury Harriers’ fixture, the gateway was moved further up the fence line, the ground levelled and reseeded. There will no longer be the soft woodchip covered patch, just smooth grass. There will be running rail all along the home straight, more having been purchased. Fences were put out on the course 10 days ago and the course building team have been hard at work.
