MAY 29th : News : General : Weatherbys Point-to-Point, by Carolyn Tanner
Will Biddick has been reaching Landmarks at regular intervals during his record-breaking season, and he registered another one at Stratford on Friday, when Torn Asunder’s victory in the 2m1f Technicair Air Conditioning & Ventilation Engineers Hunters’ Chase took his career tally to 300.
It was Will’s 45th success under National Hunt Rules, three of which were achieved in his time as a Conditional, to go with one on the flat and 254 between the flags. He was to add to that latter figure two days later with a double at Bratton Down, and currently stands ninth in the leading post-war Point-to-Point riders’ table. Of those ahead of him, only Phil York is still race-riding.
He opened his Point-to-Point account in 2004 at Stafford Cross on Let’s Fly, on whom he also had his initial ride under Rules, while his first victory in that sphere was in 2005 in an Amateur Riders’ Chase at Hereford on Ashgreen for Venetia Williams.
