A fundraising steak and strawberries lunch is being held at Trebudannon racecourse this summer to raise money to help Ed Barrett who was seriously injured in a fall at Upcott Cross this season.
Tink Gaskell, who runs a catering company and has been involved in point to point racing for many years, is hosting the event and is hoping to get as much as possible sponsored to maximise the money raised.
She said:” I was keen to do something for Ed. He has ridden for me in the past, and catering is what I do. I and my staff are contributing our services and Rundle Weldhen has generously given us the use of the big shed at Trebudannon, and we hope racegoers will turn out in force to make the event a big success.”
The event will be on Sunday, July 19, noon for a 1.30pm lunch and tables can be booked for groups up to 10 if required, but everyone is welcome, whatever the group size. Tickets will be £40 a head and there will be a guest speaker and a silent auction. Any generous donations of prizes for the silent auction are gratefully received. Dress is smart casual.
