IJF Lunch – Make Sure You Have Your Ticket

The fund raising lunch, on July 19, for jockey Ed Barratt, who suffered life changing injuries in a fall at Upcott Cross has been sponsored to such an extent that virtually all of the £40 ticket price will go directly to aid his recovery.

But it’s no good planning to go without booking, and paying for, your tickets now! It’s barely more than the cost of one entry fee and everyone, whatever their connection to point to pointing – owners, trainers, spectators, jockeys, organisers, bookies etc- can play their part in making this a terrific fund raising event. Please get your friends together for the lunch, which takes place at Trebudannon racecourse in Cornwall – easily reached via the A30.

Organiser Tink Gaskell has been working flat out to get the event off the ground. She said:” We have had a terrific response with sponsorship and donations already but in order for this to go ahead, I need confirmed bookings and ticket sales as it’s a big undertaking.”

The ticket price includes Pimms, gin and tonic or beer, canapés, sirloin steak with Cornish new potatoes and salad, strawberries and cream, chocolate fudge cake, meringues and a cheeseboard. As well as the food there will be entertainment in the form of a speaker, and a great auction which includes holidays, hunting days, tickets and lunch at Cheltenham, tickets to Badminton, Olympia, stable visits and many more exclusive items.

The Devon and Cornwall area invite all their friends from neighbouring areas to come and join in what will be a fun event for a brilliant cause. Ed Barratt has been part of the point to point scene for many years. It is a dangerous sport, and all the jockeys run risks for our entertainment. Ed supported the Devon and Cornwall area for many years, now it’s your chance to support him.

Please contact Tink Gaskell to purchase tickets and to make donations for the silent auction.
