The Four Burrow meeting at Trebudannon is the venue for Easter Mondays Point-to-Point on 28th March. With a start time of 1pm there are seven races on offer with nearly 100 entries received. The feature race of the day will be the R & J Trevarthen-sponsored Cornish National Men’s Open race which has attracted entries such as the EdWalker-trained Blazing Whale, if connections choose not to run him at the Easter Saturday Great Trethew meeting, then he could well add to his ten Point-to-Point wins so far with the booking of champion jockey Will Biddick. Ghizao from the Jack Barber team is another option for Will Biddick to ride, the horse had won over £100,00 in prize money under NH rules and could well add to his recent point-to-point win at Barbury. Jeypeck is another on a roll and could go well for the Woollacott team with Jamie Thomas on board, with wins this season at both Charleton Horethorne and Buckfastleigh.
With the Kivells-sponsored Ladies Open looking equally competitive with Master Baker from the Lisa Jefford team having clocked up four wins from six runs under jockey Jo Buck, Aikideau for the Jack Barber team would be expected to run well on his preferred ground being good to soft, and goes well for regular jockey Bryony Frost who rode a winner at Exeter this week. King Of Alcatraz is also among the 12 entered and has good Hunter Chase form with Vicky Wade being booked to take the ride again.
In the opening Care & Company of Helston-sponsored Members race, local trainer Rueben Chapman holds two entries with Reliable Richie and Winter Garden, they will look to fight off the challenge of the Ed Walker-trained Betty’s Boy having had an easy maiden win at Buckfastleigh coming home 15 lengths ahead of the field under Josh Newman.
The Sportmans Arms at Fourlanes sponsor the Maiden race in which Clo Sacre looks an interesting debutante from the Jack Barber team who have a good strike rate with maiden horses at this track, and would be one of the bookies favourites with champion jockey Will Biddick booked to ride. Robin Longstride is an entry for the Frost family and could go well again having place form at Charleton Horethorne and Buckfastleigh, with the yard finding some good form with a win at Exeter this week for jockey Bryony Frost.
Robin de Souza for the Dean Summersby team is already on five wins for the season and should add to his tally in the Truro Tractors Confined race. Peterbrown ran well at Buckfastleigh on holding ground, had shown some good form previously for the Karyn Heard team and look the likely challengers.
Athreeothree stands out in the Lamanver Brood Mares-sponsored Restricted race if connection choose to run here instead of the Easter Saturday meeting at Great Trethew where he also holds an entry, with another progressive entry Guerrilla Tactics from the Camilla Scott team expected to run well after his head win at Badbury Rings.
The final race of the day is the Ray Davies Foods-sponsored Open Maiden race, and of the 24 entered suggestion for the short list are Druid Spitfire and Tetrology.
