The Spooners & West Dartmoor Point to Point will re-open the season at Cherrybrook, near Tavistock on Saturday April 3rd where seven races will be on the card with a start time of 1.30pm. There are Ladies open and Men’s open races and with many horses still in training, the open maiden race could be divided on the day. The Totnes & Bridgetown Racing Company is sponsoring both of the Open races and will generously support races at all of the 9 remaining Devon and Cornwall fixtures this season.
The race meeting will be held behind closed doors with no public and there will be live steaming with race commentary and all day presentation with interviews of participants led by former BBC racing correspondent Cornelius Lysaght and former top jockey Lizzie Kelly.
There is a fee of £10 to view the race meeting (plus a small admin charge), which is the same cost if you attended the course as a spectator and the sport needs the income from live streaming to ensure its future.
For those spectators wanting to place a bet, the contact numbers to register are 07810 775119 for Dave Phillips and 07711 298746 for Richard Pittard.

The Spooners organising committee has prepared the course at short notice to enable the season to restart and the area officers hope that crowds can return again in mid May if and when Covid regulations allow.
