Trebudannon situated near St Columb Major in Cornwall, is where the re-arranged Point-to-Point meeting is to be hosted by The Four Burrow takes place this Saturday 28th April. There are seven races on offer with 82 entries received. The first race is due off at 2pm.

This venue offers a lovely amphitheatre type setting, offering good viewing of the course, attracting a good picnic crowd, with on course facilities offering fabulous food, hot and cold refreshments, along with bar, bookies and trade stands. Entrance to the course is £10 per person, with children under 16 free. Dogs on leads welcome. Location is at St Columb Major, (signed off A30 and A39 – TR9 4LP).

The Clerk of the course has reported the going is Soft, Heavy in Places. Rain sporadic and forecast to stop later, leaving a dry night. Tomorrow forecast to be dry and sunny but windy, hopefully the ground will dry out. Please don’t park on the grass.

The Clerk of the Course at Wadebridge has just reported that the going is heavy, soft in places. But next week the weather forecast is better, with several dry days.

The Western Hunt will host the third meeting to be held this season at The Royal Cornwall Showground this coming Sunday February 4th. 52 Entries have been received for the six races on offer with a start time of 12 noon.

The course offers great winter facilities with a covered barn containing hot food, bar, bookies, trade stands and large TV screen. As well as close trackside view. Entrance is £10 per person Children under 16 are free. Dogs on leads welcome. Parking facilities are easy access along concrete avenues.

The course is located off A39 west of Wadebridge PL27 7JE

Thursday 4th January 2018

Nicholas Phillips reports the course inspector has seen the course and has called the going “Soft, Heavy patches”. There’s a little rain forecast Thursday night, but after that the forecast seems to be much drier.

Point-to-Pointing gets back on track in the area next weekend when The North Cornwall host their meeting at the popular venue of The Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge on Sunday 7th January. There can be few better ways to blow away the Christmas and New Year festivities, with a fabulous day at the races. There will be eight races on offer, with a start time of 11.30am. A total of 72 entries have been received.

The second of two Point-to Point meetings to take place at the popular Upcott Cross course has attracted a massive 138 entries, where the South Tetcott Foxhounds host their meeting this coming Bank Holiday Monday 29th May. With two pony races heading up the action at 12 noon, followed by the main seven race card at 1pm, this is sure to be a another fabulous family day out.

A well balanced seven-race card has attracted a total of 102 entries for the Four Burrow meeting at Trebudannon on Sunday (May 14).

The races on this popular Cornish course are framed to include veteran horses, mares and young maidens and several top trainers are likely to be represented.

This excellent viewing course is located near St Columb Major, 5 miles East of Newquay signed off the A30 and A39 (TR9 4LP). Entrance costs £10 per person with children under 16 free. . Lee Glanville, 29 April 2017: Watering at Flete, ahead of the Modbury Harriers point to point on May 6

The Modbury Harriers point-to-point, which takes place at Flete Park, near Ermington, South Devon this Saturday( May 6th)  has attracted a total of 80 entries and competitive racing looks assured.

The first of seven point-point races is at 2 o’clock, preceded by pony racing which starts at 1 o’clock. This lovely parkland course features trackside viewing with the hill side offering a natural vantage point.

Car parking costs £10 for single occupancy up to £30 a car. Children under 16 are free for this enjoyable family day out which includes activities for the youngsters, lots of good stalls selling food, clothing, cars, boats and other items. Dogs on leads are welcome and plenty of bookmakers will be in attendance.

The course is situated off the A379 about 10 miles East of Plymouth, easily accessible from the A38 at Ivybridge. Post code is  PL21 9NX

‪Friday 3rd February 2917: The going at Wadebridge is expected to remain as good to soft, soft in places. The rain today has blown over and the forecast is much better tomorrow and good on Sunday. Many of the fences have been moved onto fresh ground. We’re looking forward to a good day’s racing! – Linda Matthews

Point-to-Point race horse enthusiasts will be heading back to the Royal Cornwall Showground next weekend when it is the turn of the Western to host their meeting this coming Sunday 5th February.  Six races are on offer with a start time of 12 noon which include a  Men’s and Ladies open race, both of which are qualifiers for the Timico-sponsored Mixed Open final race to be held at Cheltenham in May.

This venue ideal for those wishing to enjoy some winter sport, with the great facilities this course offers. A huge covered barn which contains a large televised screen, hot food and refreshments, bar, bookies and many trade stands. Paddock and track side viewing are just a few meters away. Good tarmac links to parking.
