Upcott Cross Sat 9.00 pm . After applying water today ground was easier than Gd-Fm. Currently raining heavily. – Dave Willis.

The course inspector visited Fri afternoon & gave the ground as good to Firm, Watering continues to maintain safe ground & good chance of rain in the forecast.

Watering started yesterday(Tues) on drier parts of course. Possibility of rain Thurs/Fri will help keep ground good. – Dave Willis.

Going is currently Good, Good/Soft on top bend .Not raced on this year with excellent grass cover. With little or no rain forecast will water through next week to maintain safe ground. – Dave Willis  C-O-C South Tetcott.

This weekend’s fixture in the Devon & Cornwall area will be held at the Upcott Cross course where the South Tetcott will host their meeting on Bank Holiday Monday May 28th. Pony racing heads up the action at 12 noon with the main race card commencing at 1pm. 145 entries have been received for the six races on offer.

On course facilities include hot food and refreshments, bar, bookies and several trade stands. Entrance is £10 car and driver and £10 per passenger. Pedestrians are £10 with children under 16 free. The event is located at Upcott Cross, 2 miles South of Halwill junction off A3079 Postcode EX21 5AE.

The first of three point-to-points scheduled to take place at the stunning location of Bratton Down is this coming Sunday May 20th. Pony racing which is sponsored by Gerald and Victor Dartnall, heads up the action at 12.45 with the main seven race card following at 2pm. 112 entries have been received. With championships hotting up in this the last month of the season, the racing will be even more competitive.

This promises to be a lovely family day out set in a great location with a view of Exmoor across the valley. Entrance to the course is £10 per person to max of £30 a car load, with children under 16 free. Dogs welcome but must be on leads at all times. On course facilities include hot and cold refreshments, bar, bookies and a number of trade stands. Location is at Bratton Fleming 9m NE of Barnstaple on A399, 11m North of South Molton – EX31 4SG Early bird tickets can be purchased from https://www.futureicticketing.ie/client/brattondown .

The Stevenstone secretary Caroline Furse reports today, Thursday, that the going at Vauterhill is good/soft with soft patches but drying all the time .No more rain forecast at Vauterhill. Racing Monday May 7.
