This Saturday will see the final Point-to-Point of the season take place at Umberleigh where the Torrington Farmers will host their meeting on 16th June. There is always a great party atmosphere, where crowds will gather to watch the final six races of the season, after which there will be three pony races to close the event. The area champions will then be crowned and trophies presented. Over 90 entries have been received for the main card which starts at 2pm.

On course facilities include hot food and refreshments, beer tent, bookies and a large number of trade stands. Entrance to the course is £10 per person to a max of £40 per car. Under 16’s go free and dogs welcome but must be on a lead at all times. The course is located at Chapleton, Umberleigh. On A377, 5m SE of Barnstaple – EX37 9EB.

The going at Bratton Down remains good to firm. The aggrivator has NOT been needed.

Having had an inch of rain over the last couple of days the going is now good to firm at Bratton Down.

Wednesday 30th May at 10.00 am

Bratton Down is firm, although it is raining at present.  Fences have been moved. The aggrivator is booked for Saturday afternoon to ensure safe racing.

The penultimate Point-to-Point of the season takes place at the stunning location of Bratton Down, Bratton Fleming this coming Sunday 10th June where the Tiverton Staghounds host their meeting. There are six races on offer with a start time of 2pm. 77 entries have been received.

There is still much at stake with both area and national championships to be decided as the season draws to a close, many outside raiders have entered here and could well turn up to battle out the finishes.

This course offers a fantastic view of Exmoor, together with some thrilling race action. There is hot and cold food and refreshments, a lively bar, bookies and plenty of room for picnicking and shopping among the various trade stands. Entrance to the course is £10 per person capped to £30 per car. Children under 16 free. Dogs only on leads welcome. It’s the turn of The Exmoor Foxhounds to host the second of three fixtures to take place at the popular course known as Bratton Down, Bratton Fleming next Sunday 3rd June. Pony racing heads up the action at 12 noon, with five pony races including National Championship races. Then follows the main six race card commencing at 2pm. Over 90 entries have been received.

The course is located at Bratton Down, Bratton Fleming 9m NE of Barnstaple on A399, 11m North of South Molton- EX31 4SG. Entrance is £10 per person to a maximum of £30 per car, children under 16 free. Dogs welcome on leads only.

A reminder that the re-arranged meeting at Upcott Cross, Halwill Junction takes place on Wednesday 6th June, Seven races are on offer with the first up at 5pm. The first of three point-to-points scheduled to take place at the stunning location of Bratton Down is this coming Sunday May 20th. Pony racing which is sponsored by Gerald and Victor Dartnall, heads up the action at 12.45 with the main seven race card following at 2pm. 112 entries have been received. With championships hotting up in this the last month of the season, the racing will be even more competitive.

The Stafford Cross course is looking very good and the going is Good tonight.

The Stafford Cross going is soft heavy in places. With just over a week to go its looking good for the Axe Vale. The course has been slightly altered and now has only 1 down hill jump and now With 19 jumps.

The Axe Vale meeting on Sunday 29th April will be held at Stafford Cross, Seaton and has attracted 120 entries for their now eight race card with the Open Maiden race already divided. Pony racing which is sponsored by Bruckland Livery heads up the action at 12 noon. Followed by the main card at 1.30pm.

The flat track at Stafford Cross offers good trackside viewing, hot food and refreshments, bar, bookies and many trade stands. Entrance to the course is £10 per person to a max of £30 per car with children under 16 free. Location is off A3052 20mins from M5 junction 30 – EX24 6HZ.

Silverton point to point at Bishops Court passed a course inspection today. We are still on to run Saturday. Going Soft , Heavy in places Linda Courtney, Hon. sec reports.

The Silverton point to point at Bishops Court , Ottery St Mary Saturday April 14th 1st race 1pm has passed a course walk today . Going is Soft , Heavy in places . We all look forward to seeing you all next week. Remember in the Bar and Cafe live racing from Aintree will be shown.

The Clerk of Course has walked around Bishops Court and reports it has much improved from the 10th of March.

The going is heavy, soft in places but improving. The mats to aid entry and exit are still in place with the option to add more if needed.

The weather predicted is mixed but favourable.

The Silverton Hunt are able to host their meeting at Bishops Court, Ottery St Mary this coming Saturday 14th April, with the kind permission of landowners Andrew and Della Carter. It promises to be a fabulous family day out at this beautiful parkland setting. Not only will there be six races on offer, but the organisers have hired a large TV screen which will be set up in the Bishops Court Cafe on site for race goers to watch live coverage of the Aintree Grand National meeting. Over 70 entries have been received for the six races on track which start with a competitive Members race to kick off the action at 1pm.

There will be a good on course party to look forward to in the Bishops Court Cafe which will have live coverage of the Grand National enabling race goers to enjoy their day without missing the action Aintree before heading home.

Entrance to the course is £10 per person to a maximum of £30 per car. Pedestrians £10 and Children under 16 free. Dogs on leads welcome. On course facilities include bar, hot and cold refreshments, bookies and a host of trade stands. The course is located at Bishops Court, Ottery St Mary. Postcode EX11 1RJ
