Bratton Down, beautifully located on the edge of Exmoor, is the setting for the Tiverton Staghounds meeting this Sunday (June 11th). This is the penultimate weekend of the point-to-point season.

An  excellent entry of 120 for the six races promises top class point-to-point racing at this most scenic venue.

On course facilities include a number of trade stands, hot food and refreshments, bar and bookies all contributing to the atmosphere of the day. Entrance to the course is £10 per car and driver, £10 per passenger up to a max of £30 per car. Children under 16 free and dogs on leads welcome.

The course is located at Bratton Down, Bratton Fleming 9m NE of Barnstaple on A399, 11m N of South Molton EX31 4SG.

Racing enthusiasts will be heading back to the stunning location of Bratton Down, Bratton Flemming next weekend where it’s the turn of The Exmooor Foxhounds to host their event on Sunday June 4th.

This has to be one of the most attractive picnic venues in the Point-to-Point racing calendar, and with the summer weather looking fair, another great family day out is on offer with the Teapes Tyres-sponsored pony racing heading up the action at 12.45pm, followed by the main six race card which has attracted 88 entries, commencing at 2pm.

Alongside the stunning backdrop view of Exmoor, on course facilities include a number of trade stands, hot food and refreshments, bar and bookies all contributing to the atmosphere of the day. Entrance to the course is £10 per car and driver, £10 per passenger up to a max of £30 per car. Children under 16 free and only dogs on leads welcome. The second of two Point-to Point meetings to take place at the popular Upcott Cross course has attracted a massive 138 entries, where the South Tetcott Foxhounds host their meeting this coming Bank Holiday Monday 29th May. A well balanced seven-race card has attracted a total of 102 entries for the Four Burrow meeting at Trebudannon on Sunday (May 14).

The races on this popular Cornish course are framed to include veteran horses, mares and young maidens and several top trainers are likely to be represented.

This excellent viewing course is located near St Columb Major, 5 miles East of Newquay signed off the A30 and A39 (TR9 4LP). Entrance costs £10 per person with children under 16 free. . Refreshments and a bar are available in a huge covered area with trade stands and bookmakers all adding to the occasion. Dogs on leads are welcome.

Another bumper weekend of racing is in store in the Devon & Cornwall Point-to-Point area when the Axe Vale host their meeting at Stafford Cross on Sunday 30th April.

Brockwood Livery sponsor the Pony racing which  heads up the action with two pony races opening the days event at Axe Vale at Stafford Cross on Sunday at 12 noon. Followed by seven races on the main card commencing at 1.30pm, 96 entries have been received.

A trip back to the historic racecourse at Buckfastleigh is on offer, where the Dart Vale & South Pool Harriers will be hosting next weekends Point-to-Point fixture on Sunday 19th March.

Paul Hancock advises going remains good, with good to soft around the 3 mile start. The team have been watering the run throughs etc in the home straight this morning

Paul Hancock, Clerk of Course and acting secretary advised this afternoon that the going at Trebudannon is Good, with Good to Soft around the 3 mile start.

Paul Hancock, Clerk of Course and acting secretary advised this morning that the going at Trebudannon is Good to Soft. The course will virtually all be new ground with the first fence not having been jumped this season, and fences 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 moved to new ground – only the ditch can’t be moved.
