It’s the turn of the East Devon Hunt to host their meeting at Bishops Court, Ottery St Mary on Sunday 3rd March. Seven races are on offer with a start time of Noon. Over 140 entries have been received and it’s set to be another competitive days racing.

This meeting usually sees the first of the spring weather drawing out picnic racegoers in their hundreds. For those wishing to sample the delights on course there will be plenty of stands offering hot food and refreshments, bar, bookies and a number of country trade-stands. Entrance to the course is £10 per person to a max of £40 per car. Children under 16 free. Dogs on leads welcome. The track is located at Bishops Court, Ottery St Mary. Postcode EX11 1RJ.

It is the turn of the East Cornwall to host the next fixture to be held in the area, which will take this coming Sunday February 24th, at the popular course located at Menheniot, Great Trethew. Pony racing heads up the action with two pony races commencing at 11am. The main event follows at midday, with six races on offer attracting over 100 entries.

The course is a great location for a family day out to enjoy the spring weather, and an opportunity to dust off the picnic baskets, whilst watching some good race action. The course offers bar, hot and cold refreshments and food, bookies and a number of trade stands. Entrance to the course is £10 per person with children under 16 free. Dogs on leads welcome. The course is located off the off the A38 between Saltash and Liskeard. Postcode PL14 3PZ.

Racing enthusiasts will be heading back to the stunning location of Bratton Down, Bratton Flemming next weekend where it’s the turn of The Exmooor Foxhounds to host their event on Sunday June 4th.

The races on this popular Cornish course are framed to include veteran horses, mares and young maidens and several top trainers are likely to be represented.

The Modbury Harriers point-to-point, which takes place at Flete Park, near Ermington, South Devon this Saturday( May 6th)  has attracted a total of 80 entries and competitive racing looks assured.

The first of seven point-point races is at 2 o’clock, preceded by pony racing which starts at 1 o’clock. This lovely parkland course features trackside viewing with the hill side offering a natural vantage point.

Car parking costs £10 for single occupancy up to £30 a car. Children under 16 are free for this enjoyable family day out which includes activities for the youngsters, lots of good stalls selling food, clothing, cars, boats and other items. Dogs on leads are welcome and plenty of bookmakers will be in attendance.

The course is situated off the A379 about 10 miles East of Plymouth, easily accessible from the A38 at Ivybridge. Post code is  PL21 9NX

The first of three Point-to-Points to be held at the stunning location of Bratton Down, Bratton Fleming, will be held next weekend by the Dulverton West on Sunday 17th May.
